Nicole - Just an Illusion

"I think we are all insecure, and there is nothing wrong in accepting that. But the problem arises when we try to counter this insecurity by cultivating this illusion of control, and we start taking ourselves and everything we know too seriously."

You, the Fan

Writer’s Seminars:

How has studying published authors changed/improved your writing?

It helped me explore different writing styles and explore new themes. It helped me to structure my writing better and get an idea how dialogue between two or more characters and how it can really impact a story.

Are you glad you did your writer? Who different would you consider? Why?

I am! Cassandra Clare saved me from the abyss I call “Procrastination” (sparkle sparkle) and that’s when I started reading more. I couldn’t get away from her books and ended up finishing the series. I can’t think of any other author I’d do just because my novels and books that I read are ones not a lot of people I know read. It is a pain really. If I read something that we both related to on the same level it would be easier but not many people read what I do.

What genres have interested you the most?
Fantasy. Fantasy has always taken my heart and I’ve always been attracted to things that can’t exist. I love mythology and other-worldly things and so fantasy has always been my go-to. It has never changed.
What did you learn from your writers? Inspirations?

I learnt that you should never give up reading and writing. It makes us human and we only learn from writing and reading. It has been like that since the beginning of time. It is a part of our daily life and I can’t imagine a life without it. It has inspired me to try and write my own books as well. I take inspiration from the world and my thoughts and so fantasy will be the core of my writings.

Any emulations to share?? If so embed a link to it on your blog, or include here.

Does my emulation on a pocketwatch count???? If not then I don’t have an emulation to share.

Clockwork Heart

Do you intend to read more of a writer? Which?

Cassandra Clare. I must finish her Shadowhunter Series. Every book. Every continuation. All of it. I love her books way too much.

Blogger:

Discuss 3-4 student writers in the class who you have commented on and/or are a fan of their writing.

I can’t exactly remember who’s I commented on and I totally forget where I can check who’s blog I commented on but I do remember Jade’s blog (http://tickledpurple.edublogs.org/) and how it inspired me to write my About Me and continue my other works. Her writing pieces always hit a spot in me that sparked emotions or inspired me. Her posts just leave me in awe every time and that is truly special. I hope she keeps up with the amazing work she’s been doing and continues down this creative streak; unlike me unfortunately.

Who you are a fan of…

I do believe I’ve covered those I am a fan of, class blogs and otherwise. Reccomend me some books and authors and this response may change.
