Nicole - Just an Illusion

"I think we are all insecure, and there is nothing wrong in accepting that. But the problem arises when we try to counter this insecurity by cultivating this illusion of control, and we start taking ourselves and everything we know too seriously."

Writer’s Seminars:

How has studying published authors changed/improved your writing?

It helped me explore different writing styles and explore new themes. It helped me to structure my writing better and get an idea how dialogue between two or more characters and how it can really impact a story. I am learning more and more from their works and in turn, helping me to create dialogues between two or more characters without too many complications.

Are you glad you did your writer? Who different would you consider? Why?

I am! Unfortunately I hadn’t known too much on my author and when I was introduce to him, it opened my eyes to the different fantasy books that I missed out on.

What genres have interested you the most?
Fantasy. Fantasy has always taken my heart and I’ve always been attracted to things that can’t exist. I love mythology and other-worldly things and so fantasy has always been my go-to. It has never changed.
What did you learn from your writers? Inspirations?

I learnt that you should never give up reading and writing. It makes us human and we only learn from writing and reading. It has been like that since the beginning of time. It is a part of our daily life and I can’t imagine a life without it. It has inspired me to try and write my own books as well. I take inspiration from the world and my thoughts and so fantasy will be the core of my writings.

The Day You Found Me

Do you intend to read more of a writer? Which?

Probably Cassandra Claire. Her books are absolutely amazing, especially the shadowhunter series.

Blogger:

Discuss 3-4 student writers in the class who you have commented on and/or are a fan of their writing.

I’ve commented on many and I totally forget who’s but I do remember Jade’s blog and how it inspired me to write my About Me and continue my other works. Her writing pieces always hit a spot in me that sparked emotions or inspired me. Her posts just leave me in awe every time and that is truly special. I hope she keeps up with the amazing work she’s been doing and continues down this creative streak.
